A propane connection that leaks when disconnected, requires tools to remove, or lacks an automatic shutoff valve is a safety hazard on every use. In most propane appliance setups — BBQs, patio heaters, fryers, and portable burners — connection problems are caused by a missing or worn quick-disconnect coupler. When the coupler is absent or failed, disconnecting the appliance releases propane into the air, and reconnecting without a valve means gas flows before the appliance is ready. ⚡ The most overlooked propane safety upgrade for outdoor cooking and heating setups — a valved coupler eliminates gas release on every connect and disconnect. QD-GMC6-6F is a valved brass quick-disconnect coupler with 3/8" fittings that automatically shuts off gas flow when disconnected, making propane appliance swaps safe and tool-free.

Skill Level: Easy — 5–10 minutes. Gas shutoff required before beginning. Shut off the propane supply at the tank or shutoff valve before disconnecting any fittings. Apply yellow PTFE gas tape to all male threads, thread the coupler onto the supply hose and appliance inlet hand-tight, then snug with a wrench — do not overtighten brass fittings. Restore propane supply and test all connections with soapy water or a gas leak detector before operating the appliance.
Compatible with any propane appliance using 3/8" inlet fittings including BBQs, patio heaters, outdoor fryers, and portable burners. Contact us to confirm compatibility before ordering.
