When a GE refrigerator stops cooling properly, develops heavy frost on the freezer back wall, or makes a loud grinding or buzzing noise, a failed evaporator fan motor is almost always the cause. In GE, Café, Profile, and Monogram refrigerators, the evaporator fan motor circulates cold air through both the freezer and fresh food compartments — when it fails, airflow stops, food warms up, and frost accumulates on the evaporator coils. ⚡ Common failure point in GE French door and side-by-side refrigerators. Part WG03F08474 is the genuine OEM replacement that directly supersedes WR60X35205, WG03F06743, and WG03F07207 — restoring full airflow and cooling with no modification required.
This is the correct fix if ALL of the following are true:

✔ If these symptoms match, the evaporator fan motor is the most likely failed component in the system.
✔ In most cases, replacing the fan motor with WG03F08474 restores full airflow and cooling immediately.
Skill Level: INTERMEDIATE — Allow 45–60 minutes. Unplug the refrigerator before beginning any work. Access the evaporator fan by removing the freezer rear panel — allow any frost on the evaporator coils to thaw completely before reassembling (a hair dryer on low speeds this up). Disconnect the wire harness, remove the mounting bracket screws, and swap the motor. Confirm the fan blade spins freely by hand after installation. Restore power and press the freezer door switch to verify the fan runs before closing up.
