The door lock switch (also called the door latch assembly) does two jobs: it physically latches the door closed and sends the signal to the control board that it’s safe to start a cycle. When it fails, your washer won’t start, throws a door lock error code, or stops mid-cycle with the door locked shut. Part DC64-00519B is the OEM replacement door lock switch that restores proper locking, cycle start, and door release on Samsung front-load washers and compatible models. Installation Notes
- Skill Level: Intermediate — basic hand tools required
- Disconnect power to the washer before beginning any repair
- Access the door lock by removing the door boot seal and front panel
- Disconnect the wiring harness from the old lock before removing it
- Secure the new lock in place, reconnect the harness, and reassemble in reverse order
- Run a test cycle to confirm the door locks, cycle starts, and door releases normally

Before replacing the door lock, inspect the wiring harness connector at the lock assembly. Burnt pins, corroded terminals, or a loose connector are a common cause of door lock error codes and are often mistaken for a failed lock. Clean or reseat the connector first — if the error persists, then replace the lock. Also check for error codes in the washer’s diagnostic mode to confirm the fault is isolated to the door lock circuit before ordering.
