If your Samsung range surface element won't heat or respond to the control knob, the surface element control switch is the most common cause. In most Samsung freestanding ranges, this switch routes power to the front left and right surface elements based on knob position. When it fails, the element may not heat at any setting, heat at only one level, or fail to shut off. ⚡ Common failure point in Samsung-built ranges. Remove the control panel fascia to access the switch mounting bracket; disconnect the wiring harness, swap the switch, and reconnect. Verify knob alignment and full range of motion before reassembling the panel.
