Is This the Part You Need?

This is the door gasket / tub seal for select Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, and Jenn-Air dishwashers. The door seal runs around the perimeter of the tub opening and creates a watertight barrier when the door is closed. When the gasket hardens, cracks, tears, or loses its shape, water escapes during the wash cycle — pooling on your kitchen floor and potentially causing water damage to your cabinetry and subfloor. This is a direct OEM replacement that restores a leak-free seal.

Symptoms of a Failed Dishwasher Door Seal

  • Water leaking from the door during or after a wash cycle
  • Puddles on the kitchen floor in front of the dishwasher
  • Visible cracks, tears, or hardening in the door gasket
  • Gasket no longer springs back when compressed (compression set)
  • Door feels loose or doesn’t seal firmly when closed
  • Musty odour from moisture trapped around the door frame

💡 Pro Tip — Clean the Channel Before Installing:
Before fitting the new gasket, wipe out the door seal channel with a damp cloth and remove any mineral deposits, mould, or debris. A dirty channel prevents the new gasket from seating fully — especially in the bottom corners — and will cause the same leak you’re trying to fix. Also inspect the door latch and hinge alignment: a misaligned door puts uneven pressure on the gasket and will shorten its lifespan significantly.

Why is my dishwasher leaking water from the door?

Water leaking from the dishwasher door during operation is almost always caused by a worn or damaged door seal (tub gasket). The seal runs around the perimeter of the tub opening and compresses against the door when closed, creating a watertight barrier. Over time, the rubber seal cracks, tears, hardens, or warps — losing its ability to seal properly. Even small gaps allow water to escape, especially during high-pressure spray cycles. Check the seal for visible damage — cracks, tears, flat spots, or areas that have pulled out of the channel. If the seal looks worn or damaged, replacing it stops the leak. Also verify the door closes fully and latches properly — a misaligned door can prevent the seal from compressing evenly.
