The DG47-00064A is the OEM Samsung dual radiant surface element for compatible NE59 and NE63 series Samsung electric ranges. This element features a dual-ring design with a 6-inch inner ring and an 8-inch outer ring, allowing the burner to operate at two different sizes depending on the cookware being used. When the element fails — from a broken coil, burnt-out section, or internal open circuit — the burner may not heat at all, heat only on one ring, or heat unevenly. This is a direct OEM replacement requiring no modifications.
The DG47-00064A dual radiant element uses a coiled resistance wire embedded in a ceramic or mineral-insulated sheath, pressed into a flat spiral form. The dual-ring design allows the inner 6-inch ring to operate independently for small cookware, or both rings to energize together for larger pots and pans. The element is controlled by the energy regulator (infinite switch) — if the element tests open with a multimeter but the regulator tests good, the element is the failed component. Disconnect power at the breaker before beginning — this element operates at 240V. Lift the cooktop surface to access the element mounting hardware underneath. Photograph the element wiring connections before disconnecting. Remove the mounting screws or clips securing the element, disconnect the terminal block, and lift the element out. Install the new DG47-00064A in the same position, reconnect the terminal block securely, and verify no wires are pinched before lowering the cooktop. Restore power and test both the inner and outer rings at multiple heat settings.
