The DC93-00634A is the spring-loaded idler pulley assembly that keeps the drum drive belt under constant tension in your Samsung dryer. When the bearing inside the pulley wheel seizes or wears out, it drags on the belt — producing the characteristic squealing or thumping noise that gets louder every cycle. Left unaddressed, a failed idler pulley destroys the drive belt and can score the drum support rollers, turning a $60 repair into a $200+ job. Available in genuine OEM and premium XPart aftermarket options.
Skill Level: Moderate — comfortable DIYer with basic appliance repair experience. Estimated time: 30–60 minutes. Always disconnect power before beginning. Access the idler pulley by removing the front panel (or top panel depending on model). Release belt tension by pushing the idler arm toward the motor to create slack, then remove the old pulley from its pivot post. Photograph the belt routing path before disassembly. Seat the new pulley firmly on the pivot post, re-route the belt around the drum, idler pulley, and motor pulley, then spin the drum by hand to confirm correct tracking before closing the cabinet.
