CRITICAL SAFETY WARNING: Unplug dryer. Use gloves; sheet metal edges are sharp.

  1. Unplug dryer from power (and shut off gas if gas model).
  2. Remove lint screen and lint screen housing screws (if applicable).
  3. Remove top panel (release clips/screws).
  4. Remove control console fasteners as needed (model dependent).
  5. Remove front panel and door switch connector.
  6. Release belt tension by pushing idler pulley and slip belt off motor pulley.
  7. Lift drum out of cabinet (support the rear as it disengages from the rear bearing).
  8. Inspect and replace worn support parts (rear bearing, front glides, felt seal) as needed.
  9. Install the new WW02L00022 drum, seating the rear hub into the rear bearing correctly.
  10. Route belt around drum in the original wear track; reinstall belt on motor pulley and idler (verify correct belt path).
  11. Spin drum by hand to confirm smooth rotation and no rubbing.
  12. Reinstall front panel, reconnect door switch, reinstall top/console, and reassemble lint housing.
  13. Restore power (and gas), run a timed dry test, and listen for abnormal noise.
  1. Always inspect the rear drum bearing—a worn bearing will ruin a new drum quickly.
  2. Replace front glides/felt seal if worn; low-cost parts that prevent callbacks.
  3. If the old drum shows scoring, check for foreign objects in the blower housing and drum seals.
