Skill Level: MODERATE — 30–45 min. Unplug the dryer before starting. Remove the back panel to access the heating element housing. Disconnect the two wire leads, remove the element mounting screws, and slide the old element out. Install the new element in reverse order, ensuring the coil does not contact the housing. Reconnect leads and test before reassembling the panel.

Always replace the thermal fuse at the same time:
The thermal fuse blows to protect the element — if the element failed, the fuse likely did too. Replacing only the element without checking the fuse means the dryer may not heat at all, or the new element will fail prematurely. While the back panel is off, also clean the full exhaust duct — restricted airflow is the root cause of most element failures.
