If your GE gas range burner won’t ignite, produces uneven or lopsided flames, or the burner cap won’t seat flat, the burner head outer ring is the most common cause. In most GE gas ranges, this is caused by a cracked, warped, or corroded outer ring that disrupts gas flow around the burner base. When it fails, gas escapes unevenly from the burner assembly — causing weak yellow flames, ignition misfires, and inefficient heating. ⚡ Item #98 in the GE burner assembly diagram — one of the most common wear parts on GE gas ranges. Part WS01F08484 is the genuine OEM replacement outer ring that restores proper gas channelling and even blue flame distribution across the full burner.
This is the correct fix if ALL of the following are true:

✔ If these symptoms match, this is the most likely failed component in the burner assembly.
✔ In most cases, replacing this outer ring restores normal ignition and even flame distribution immediately.
Skill Level: EASY — 5 to 15 minutes. No tools required. Turn off the gas supply at the shutoff valve and disconnect power to the range before servicing. Remove the burner cap, then lift the outer ring straight up off the burner base. Seat the new WS01F08484 firmly and evenly — an improperly seated ring causes the same symptoms as a failed one. Reinstall the cap and test ignition before returning the range to service.
