Testing the Existing Fuse


  1. Disconnect power to the dryer (unplug or turn off the breaker).

  2. Locate the thermal fuse — usually on or near the blower housing or exhaust vent path.

  3. Use a multimeter (ohmmeter) to check continuity across the fuse terminals:


    If you get “OL” (open circuit) or infinite resistance, the fuse is blown.


    If you see low resistance (close to zero), it’s still good (but consider if airflow issues caused overheating).



  4. If it’s blown, it needs replacement — they aren’t resettable.

Replacing / Installing


  1. Unplug the dryer / remove power.

  2. Gain access:


    Remove the rear panel or front control panel (depending on model).


    Disconnect or push aside the lint trap / vent hose if needed.

  5. Install the new fuse in the same orientation.

  6. Reconnect wires securely (ensure good contact, no frayed ends).
