Common Symptoms

  • Door does not latch or remain closed when the striker is broken, missing, or damaged.
  • Visible cracking, deformation, or looseness at the front-panel striker.

Check Before Replacing

  • With power disconnected, inspect the front-panel striker for cracks, deformation, missing material, or looseness.
  • Close the dryer door and verify that the striker enters the door-latch area without binding.
  • Compare the striker position with the latch opening; do not operate the dryer if the door cannot close securely.
