Warning: Always unplug the microwave and discharge the high voltage capacitor before beginning. Remove the outer cabinet by unscrewing the perimeter screws. Locate the high voltage diode — it connects between the capacitor and the chassis ground. Disconnect the diode leads, install the new diode observing correct polarity (the banded end connects to ground), and reassemble the cabinet. Restore power and run a heat test with a cup of water.
