CRITICAL SAFETY WARNING: Switch OFF the 240V breaker and verify power is OFF.

1. Turn off the range/oven breaker (double-pole) and confirm no power.
2. Remove oven racks for access.
3. Locate the broil element mounting screws (typically rear/top of oven cavity).
4. Remove mounting screws while supporting the element.
5. Gently pull the element toward you a few inches until the wire terminals are accessible.
6. Do not let wires fall back into the insulation cavity—hold them with needle-nose pliers or tape.
7. Disconnect the two wire terminals from the old element (spade connectors).
8. Inspect terminals for heat damage; replace loose/burnt connectors (prevents repeat arcing).
9. Connect wires to the new WG02F04465 element terminals (tight fit).
10. Push excess wire back carefully and seat the element bracket flush.
11. Reinstall mounting screws snug (don’t strip).
12. Restore power and test broil; confirm strong, even glow and stable cycling.

PRO-LEVEL TECH TIP

1. Quick check: a 3410W/240V broil element typically measures about
   R=V2P=24023410≈16.9 ΩR=PV2​=34102402​≈16.9 Ω (Expect roughly 16–18 Ω at room temp.)
2. If the element is open, also check for burnt/loose spade terminals—they can overheat and damage the new element.
3. If the breaker trips, test for short-to-ground (sheath failure) before installing the new element.
4. If broil is weak but the element glows, verify supply voltage and check the control relay on the ERC.
5. After install, run broil 3–5 minutes and re-check for any smell/smoke from terminal overheating.
6. Repeated failures often trace to poor connections or heat-soaked wiring at the rear pass-through.
7. Don’t “calibrate” broil to fix browning—broil performance is mostly element output + rack position + airflow.
8. If bake is also weak/slow, test the bake element and oven sensor—customers often report “broil bad” when overall heat is low.
