General Electric (GE) Range Oven Bake Element WS01F02249
Genuine GE lower oven bake element; 2850 W, 240 V, approximately 18-1/2 x 16-1/2 inches with 1-1/2-inch inserts. It supplies bottom-oven heat during baking.
❓ Is This the Right Part?
This is the correct fix if ALL of the following are true:
- ✔ Your appliance is a GE, GE Profile, or GE Café freestanding or slide-in range or wall oven
- ✔ The oven won't heat, heats slowly, or bakes unevenly (bottom heat issue)
- ✔ You can see visible burn marks, breaks, or blistering on the existing bake element
- ✔ Your model number is in the confirmed compatibility list (check tags or contact us)
- ✔ ONLY problem is a failed lower bake element — not a broil element, igniter, control board, or temperature sensor issue
🔧 Common Symptoms
- Oven won't heat up at all on bake mode
- Oven takes much longer than normal to reach temperature
- Food burns on top but stays raw on the bottom
- Visible burn hole, crack, or blister on the element coil
- Element glows red only partially or not at all
- Oven trips the breaker or blows a fuse when bake is selected
✔ If these symptoms match, this is the most likely failed component in the system.
✔ In most cases, replacing this bake element restores normal oven operation immediately.

⚙️ Installation Notes
Skill Level: Easy (2/5) — 15–25 minutes. Disconnect power to the range at the breaker or by unplugging before beginning — the bake element carries 240V and must be fully de-energized. Open the oven door, remove the oven racks, and unscrew the two mounting screws at the back of the element. Gently pull the element forward to expose the wire connectors, disconnect them, and reverse the process with the new element. Do not force the connectors — if they are corroded or fused, replace the connector terminals as well to avoid arcing.
💡 Pro Tip
A failed bake element often means the oven has been running hot on broil to compensate — inspect the broil element (WB44X200 or equivalent) for signs of stress while the oven is open. Also test the oven temperature sensor (WB21X5243 or equivalent) with a multimeter; a drifting sensor is the second most common cause of uneven baking after a failed element.
