A gas oven that won’t light, takes forever to preheat, or shuts off mid-cycle almost always has a failed igniter — and it’s the most common repair on GE gas ranges. In most GE gas ovens, this is caused by a failed glowbar igniter. When it fails, the igniter either won’t glow at all or glows weakly and can’t draw enough current to open the gas valve — so the burner never lights and the oven never heats. ⚡ Common failure point in GE gas ovens and ranges. Part WS01F10532 is the genuine OEM replacement that restores full ignition and heating performance with no modifications required.

✔ If these symptoms match, this is the most likely failed component in the system.
✔ In most cases, replacing this igniter restores normal oven operation immediately.
Skill Level: Easy — 20–30 minutes. Disconnect power and shut off gas before servicing. Remove the oven racks and bottom panel to access the igniter mounted on the burner assembly. Disconnect the two-wire harness, remove the mounting screws, and install the new igniter in reverse order. Do not touch the igniter element with bare hands — skin oils reduce lifespan. Restore power and gas, then run a test cycle to confirm ignition.
