WS01F11482 GE Range Oven Broil Element – The direct replacement for a GE electric oven that won't broil, won't brown or sear food from the top, has uneven broiling (one side browns while the other stays pale), takes excessively long to preheat, or has a visible break, hole, or burn spot in the upper element. The broil element is the heating coil at the top of the oven that provides intense, direct radiant heat from above — used for broiling steaks, melting cheese, browning casserole tops, toasting, and caramelizing. It operates at higher wattage than the bake element (approximately 3,000–3,600W) to deliver maximum surface heat for searing and crisping. When the broil element fails — typically from the nichrome wire burning through — the oven loses its ability to produce top-down heat. You may see a visible break, hole, blister, or burn spot on the element. In some cases, the element shorts to the sheath, causing sparking, a bright flash, or tripping the breaker. If your oven bakes normally from the bottom but won't broil or brown from the top, the broil element has failed. This genuine OEM GE part directly replaces WS01F08445. Fits GE, Hotpoint, and Kenmore electric ranges and wall ovens. Easy 15–25 minute DIY repair.
